These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Carrick (“we”, “our”, “us”), including the Carrick website, APIs, GitHub Action, and related services (“Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Eligibility and Access
Carrick is currently available by invite only. To access the Service, you must:
- Provide a valid email address through our website
- Be issued an API key by us manually
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your API key and any usage under it.
2. Permitted Use
You are allowed to use the Service to analyze your own GitHub repositories, including both public and private projects.
You may not:
- Use the Service on repositories you do not have rights to access
- Reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the Service
- Use the Service in violation of applicable laws
3. Data Collection and Use
We collect and process the following data:
- Your email address
- Publicly available and permission-granted metadata from your repositories (e.g., TypeScript configuration, NPM packages, file/folder names)
- Selected code snippets from API call sites (e.g., consumer/producer code) for analysis
- Code snippets may be sent to Google Gemini for enrichment or validation
- All data is stored securely using Amazon Web Services (AWS)
You retain ownership of your source code. We only store and process metadata and relevant snippets as required for analysis.
4. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details on what we collect, how we use it, and your rights to request deletion.
5. Availability and Changes
Carrick is provided “as is”, without any warranties or guarantees of uptime, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.
6. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access at any time, particularly if:
- You violate these Terms
- You misuse or abuse the Service
You may request termination of your access and data deletion by contacting us.
7. Intellectual Property
Carrick retains all rights to its own software, code, branding, and service features. You must not copy, modify, or reuse any part of the Service without written permission.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Carrick will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Service, including lost data, business interruption, or legal claims.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of The Netherlands. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Dutch courts.
